Comcast-NBCU Merger Set For January Approval
The FCC will move to approve the merger between NBC Universal and Comcast in January with the Justice Department likely to do the same.
FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski released Thursday a draft order approving of the media merger as long as certain conditions are met, including requiring Comcast to post as many NBC shows online for free viewing as competitors such as ABC, Fox and CBS do.
The Justice Department has been investigation to ensure that deal doesn't break any anti-trust rules, and that inquiry is expected to end next month.
