New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg attempted to quash rumors that he's interested in running for the U.S. presidency in 2012 on Sunday, saying on "Meet the Press" that "no way, no how" would he run for the position in the next election.

Bloomberg told host David Gregory that he is outspoken on national issues, which has caused the rumors that he's eyeing higher office, "because they’re relevant to New York."

“I am going to speak out on those things that affect New York City. That’s my job," as New York mayor, he said.

Bloomberg has been vocal on issues ranging from immigration to trade.
