Mark Madoff, the son of the admitted mastermind of the world's largest Ponzi scheme, hung himself to death in his New York home on Saturday morning.

Bernie Madoff was arrested exactly two years ago for cheating thousands of investors out of $18 billion. He's serving a 150-year prison sentence.

Mark, who left behind his wife and two-year-old son, was recently sued by the trustee looking to recoup some of the investors lost.

The statute of limitations to recover money lost expires Saturday, which is why the trustee also just sued Austrian banker Sonja Kohn for nearly $20 billion in damages.
