Will Nancy Pelosi Step Aside?

A growing number of House Democrats are voicing their opposition to Rep. Nancy Pelosi's bid for House minority leader, pressuring her to step aside.

Democrats lost at least 60 seats in the election last week with a few more seats still in dispute, giving Republicans the majority of the House.

Pelosi was quick to announce after the election that she would run for minority leader. So far, no one has decided to run against her.

Party elections are scheduled for Nov. 17, but they could be postponed.

Among some of Pelosi's most vocal opponents are moderate Democrats in conservative districts, because they saw many like-minded Democrats fall to Republicans last week. The majority of House Democrats are now liberals, who have long supported Pelosi's views.

"The reality is that she is politically toxic,"  said Rep. Mike Quigley of Illinois to the Associated Press.

Only time will tell if she's toxic enough to get the boot.
