California Republican Party members are in incredibly high spirits at the "victory party" in Irvine, California tonight in the wake of Republican gains in Congress.  Despite projections that Carly Fiorina, who is slated to speak the the crowd here later tonight, will most likely not be elected to the Senate, Republican Party members in the crowd are ecstatic about their new majority in the House of Representatives.

One woman, Linda Cerro, said that the wave of Republican victories thanks to the elections are "what we have got to do to get back to 'we the people'."  She emphasized a return to the Constitution motivated, in large part, by the liberalism of President Obama.

Carly Fiorina voted this morning near her Los Altos Hills home.  Barbara Boxer voted by absentee ballot a few weeks ago.

The evening might be a long one for both ladies, as ABC7 predicts that the final results on who will win the Senate seat might not come in until late into the evening.

Fifty to 75 media members are setting up cameras, scribbling notes and gearing up for Sen. Barbara Boxer's Election Night party at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood. Parking might be available on side streets, but it could be better to park at the hotel. This area draws the crowds and the people. The Kodak Theater is nearby.

USC senior fellow and political scientist Sherry Bebitch Jeffe says the Barbara Boxer-Carly Fiorina race for California senator will come down to voter turnout, from Aaron Glantz's article in The Bay Citizen in San Francisco.

In the article, Jeffe says the advertisements paint Fiorina in a more negative light than vice-versa.

A Field Poll expects 9.5 million California citizens will vote. Of those, 44 percent are Democrats, 39 percent are Republicans and 17 percent are Independents.

12:30 p.m. Tuesday

Carly Fiorina is scheduled to drop by her Irvine volunteer office to rally her supporters right now.  This is her only scheduled appearance for the day untii the California Republican Parly election night party this evening.

Political analysts are still calling the Boxer-Fiorina race a toss-up; polls show that the race is still leaning towards going to Boxer.  Election results can be viewed as they come in here.

Republican challenger Carly Fiorina spent the last day before the polls open on Nov. 2 dropping in on supporters and volunteers in phone banks from Pasadena to San Diego.

Fiorina is going to be watching results come in with the California Republican Party tonight at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, California.

One interesting note about the "Victory Party" that the CA Republicans are hosting on election night: media must pay $450 in order to be given the password to access the hotel's internet connection.  This reporter will be submitting her updates via her iPhone.
