The Australian experimental band PVT performed at Spaceland Sunday night at 11.

Formerly known as Pivot, until a North Carolina band claimed ownership of the same name, PVT decided to drop their vowels and embark on a world tour for their third album release, "Church With No Magic."

Tonight's performance was their final one of North America before touring in Australia.

Calling PVT experimental may hold listeners at arm's length, but their sound is unlike the distant, "I don't get it" stereotypes of music that can't be easily categorized.

With influences by Talking Heads and Brian Eno, PVT's sound is more grounded and "parts of the record sound like early Depeche Mode and late ’70s era Bowie."

Check out their reviews here, here and here.
