The biggest names in music are expected to come together and attend this year’s American Music Awards.

Broadcasting from L.A. Live this coming Sunday, the awards show will showcase everyone’s favorite musical talents of the past year.

This year’s production has a list of performers that cover every music fan’s taste and genre.

Kid Rock, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus are all expected to take to the stage and perform.

Anticipation is building in particular for performances by New Kids on the Block and The Backstreet Boys who just announced a national tour together. (A date at the Staples Center is scheduled for July 1, 2011.)

Fan favorite Taylor Swift will take to the stage in support of her huge “Speak Now” album which sold more than one million copies in its first week.

P!nk is scheduled to perform and all eyes will be on her stomach to see if there really is a baby bump. Finally, an awards show wouldn’t be complete without a performance from Justin Bieber.

Compared to other award shows, all winners will be chosen by votes from viewers at home. For the past several weeks, people could log-onto ABC.com to cast their vote.

Eminem and Lady Antebellum lead the race this year with five nominations each while Justin Bieber follows closely behind with four nominations. Bieber along with Eminem, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry make up the highly competitive roster of nominees for 2010 Artist of the Year.

Last year, the coveted prize went to Taylor Swift.

Compared to other award shows, the American Music Awards tends not to have as much controversy or "oh no they didn’t moments."

However, that doesn’t include Adam Lambert’s provocative performance last year which drew harsh criticism from the Parents Television Council.

In addition, while introducing the Black Eyed Peas, Kate Hudson was too close for comfort after almost suffering a wardrobe malfunction.

For any music fan, the American Music Awards is the show to watch this Sunday night.

Girls will be interested in the red carpet show hosted by Lance Bass and Whitney Port.

Guys will enjoy the performances from Bon Jovi, Santana, and their guilty pleasures they are too ashamed to admit.

Finally, like any live TV awards show, surprises are guaranteed. This show won’t be an exception.
