President Barack Obama is going back on his word, giving into an otherwise unbeatable Republican spending machine, by accepting donations from outside groups.

Similar conservative groups donated more than $200 million nationwide during this year's midterm elections. Obama's team expect the groups to spend more than $500 million during the presidential election to eject Obama from office. After realizing how much of a hurt the donations put on the campaigns of Democrats this year, Politico reports that Obama's advisers are telling liberal groups that they are free to donate. Obama refused to donations made under the veil of a group in 2008, instead only accepting donations made directly to his campaign.

However, it seems the Democratic groups will have to offer some more details about where the money is originating from. Republican groups such as American Crossroads and the American Action Network this year used a series of tax loopholes to mask the identities of individual donors.
