You have 10 minutes to get ready for a fun night out or a last-minute cocktail hour with your new date. Stressed? Don't be - here are the essential tips to get you out of those sweatpants and looking Hollywood glam within minutes.

Outfit

First, if you have something in mind, for instance a shirt, a dress, a jacket or the best fitting pants ever, grab it and put in on. Chances are, you’ve already worn them at some point and looked great. So why not take advantage of a known fact, and worry about something that you haven’t worn for a while and are not sure how it would look. If your first pick is not right, don’t spend more than two minutes in front of your not-so-clean closet. Pick the most plain dress, shirt, pants, or top that you can think.

Accessories

Always remember that the best way to be trendy and glamorous on the clock is to accessorize and add color to a plain yet great fitting base. Remember, that by adding a colorful silk scarf like this one from Alexander McQueen, or a heavy silk-wool scarf for the wintertime, you can bring the chic out of everything plain.

Shoes

Even if you have the most boring and plain outfit, your shoes are the magic touch that would make your outfit shine. Shoes are to outfits what icing is to a cupcake. If your outfit is plain, then make your shoes the highlight. You can dress up anything and everything with a pair of high close toe pump or a sling back platform peep-toe pump. Adding shoes that have a high contrast with your ensemble will add that thoughtful and trendy touch.

For this season make sure you have one or two very bright-colored pumps to go with those dark winter outfits that are not too easy to dazzle up. Don’t be afraid of flats. When time is short and what you have is a closet full of shoes and mismatching clothes, take risks and were an adorable flat that would boost out your confidence and show you can look cute, even if you forgot your 5” platforms at home. Remember, skinny jeans, light or dark would always look great with ballerina flats like these “Melissa Flats” or some “Tory Burch” glittery flats.

Hair and Make-up in 5 Minutes

You really don’t have time to wash your hair, straighten it or spend the rest of your time putting on eyeliner. This season is all about simple-chic, so don’t worry about the whole nine yards, just wear a bright lipstick, some blush and mascara and you are set to go. Bright lipsticks in shades of red, crimson, burgundy, and plum are this season's key look. The attention would be taken away from everything else and the focus would be on the lips—letting you have the easiest way out. Nars "Red Lizard Lipstick” or the "Pinstripe Plum" from Dior are among this season’s popular shades.

Your hair should be the last thing on your mind. Girls who have straight hair can do a simple ponytail as many of this season’s designers have sent their models down the runways with simple straight ponytails, as seen at Louis Vuitton.

Curly or fizzy, don’t be afraid to do a fun last-minute updo. Simply pull back the hair and pin it up with a few bobby pins. Nothing has to be perfect - just have it under control and put the focus on your face.

Remember, getting ready in ten minutes is not that hard after all. The key is to know your strengths, what looks best on you, and that you make your outfits look great. Bold, bright colors are the key this season, and it's all about the simple chick with a touch of color.
