When 11-year-old Emma Watson became a child superstar with her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, no one could have foreseen how the bushy-haired Brit would effortlessly evolve into a style icon with a daring pixie cut.

In her 10 years in the spotlight, Emma Watson has become a symbol of timeless British style with an edge.

Although Watson has had her share of fashion misses, she has always kept her look adventurous yet age appropriate, a feat for a young girl growing up in the spotlight.

For the British premiere of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone," Watson wore a full-length grey dress with cap sleeves, a feather boa and lavender python boots. This strange pairing shows how 11-year-old Watson began to play with fashion at a very young age, never shying away from the unexpected.

In 2004, Watson was ahead of her time, embracing the utilitarian military jacket style before the rest of the world had caught on to the trend. Although the jacket was in clownish red and yellow, Watson had the stylistic eye to keep the rest of her look simple with youthful jeans.

As the Harry Potter phenomenon grew, so did Watson. She abandoned some of the over-accessorizing of the past - in 2006, she paired a bohemian dress with boots, a belt, chunky jewelry and TWO sweaters – and looked to ensembles that made strong statements on their own.

Watson cemented herself as a designer favorite as the face of Burberry for autumn/winter 2009. The star has always favored classically British and French designers such as Chanel, Burberry, and Ossie Clark, but she has increasingly donned American labels such as Rodarte and Proenza Schouler as well.

One of Watson’s most unforgettable style moments came at the 2009 spring/summer Burberry show during London Fashion Week. In a complex gold metallic minidress, paired with messy hair and a smoky eye, Watson debuted an edgy, fashion-conscious look.

Watson could seem predictable in classic black and white Chanel, but her dress at the National Movie Awards in May 2010 featured unexpected mesh cutouts, and she paired it with chunky black Louboutins.

Now, with a new coif and the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 1," the world has seen Watson transformed once more. Her bold style has now taken on a darker tone. In a drapey velvet Vionnet dress, Watson upped the drama factor with intense eyes and a burgundy lip.

For the New York premiere of the new film, Watson’s slinky black Calvin Klein dress was a risky choice. It was both a throwback to classic 90s Calvin Klein, and an interesting and inventive silhouette that screamed fashion-forward.

In a Rafael Lopez dress with a sheer lace top and short feathered skirt at another premiere, Watson revealed an unexpected amount of skin, but her understated accessories and nymphish pixie cut prevented the look from becoming raunchy.
