Guetta rallied the crowd with a few words, which immediately set the mood for the rest of the night, “I am so happy to be here tonight you have no idea,” said Guetta, “This is my last show and I am ready to party! Ready to get crazy LA?”
Overall, his performance was futuristic themed, which incorporated a huge LED backdrop of constant pattern variations and hypnotizing geometric shapes with vivid color schemes.
Manufactured Superstars (Brad Roulier and Shawn Sabo) was the opening DJ act. The duo dropped popular Top 40 songs shamelessly.
However, their heavy bass remixes made the tunes easy for Guetta fans to appreciate.
The atmosphere made it hard for Guetta fans to contain their excitement, however, the Palladium truly erupted when he brought out the Robots, which have been a significant ingredient in his performances throughout his “One Love” Tour.
The Robots are two men raised on stilts wrapped in LED light amour with matching helmets. They have a tank on their back used to spew out fog and wide sharp looking beams from laser guns as they sync their routine with the music’s rhythm.
It was clear that he put a lot of time and imagination into the production of his performance.
His song build-ups were painfully suspenseful but incredibly rewarding as he let the beat drop hard throughout the night, beginning with one of his most recent singles, “Getting Over You.”
Guetta’s “One Love” album, released in 2009, features hits with Kelly Rowland (of Destiny’s Child), Akon, Kid Cudi, Black Eyed Peas, and LMFAO.
The album sold more than 3 million copies and his “One Love” album made him one of the most sought after producers in the world.
Guetta has managed to officially take electronic dance music out of the confines of the global underground by incorporating electro-house with popular hip-hop and pop.
He landed the spot of No. 2 House DJ in the world, according to DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s.
Guetta brought it full circle with attitude bumping electronic dance tunes under layers of native thumping house undertones.
However, the vibe shifted a little bit at 1 a.m. as Guetta announced surprise guest, will.i.am.
The two playfully collaborated, mashing and looping each other’s songs.
Later apl.de.ap (Allan Pineda Lindo Jr.), another member of The Black Eyed Peas, appeared and joined the epic party.
Guetta and will.i.am ended with "Boom Boom Pow" around 3 a.m., leaving the crowed satisfied and exhausted.
The genuine thrill and excitement lingered as the crowd trickled out of the venue.
