While millions of Americans gave thanks for a turkey feast and a day off from work, the Jolie-Pitt family opted to sit this Thanksgiving out. 

According to an insider, Angelina Jolie refuses to celebrate the holiday because it commemorates the wrongdoings of early Americans.

“To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn’t her style. She definitely doesn’t want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder,” the insider said.

“Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she has made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday,” an friend told Popeater.

Angelina is known for being a humanitarian and sensitive to suffering around the world. Serving as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Jolie has been on field missions to over 20 countries to donate money and supplies to people in need.

The Betty Ford Clinic allowed Lindsay Lohan to leave rehab for 15 hours for Thanksgiving on Thursday.

The actress reportedly spent the holiday with her father, Michael Lohan. Several friends joined the duo for dinner and a visit with Lindsay. 

The actress will remain in court-mandated rehab until January 3. 

Earlier this week, she was replaced in a role for an upcoming film, "Inferno," due to "scheduling conflicts from her legal obligations." 

“She really had to focus on that in our opinion – and hers,” said producer Chris Hanley, “we wish the best to her and are sure she will succeed at her goals.”

Michael Douglas, his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, and their two kids, Carys and Dylan, spent this Thanksgiving on a family trip at Disneyworld.

Douglas, 66, recently completed eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy for lung cancer.

“Douglas and Zeta-Jones are very happy and thankful the way things are going this Thanksgiving,” said his rep, Allen Burry.

Since completing his treatment, the actor has been recuperating at home in New York City and working on gaining back his strength by walking his kids to school, among other things.

His father, Kirk Douglas, told Entertainment Tonight that Michael is feeling “very good” and is “much stronger now."
