Following the trend of animated movies that appeal to kids and grown-ups alike, "Megamind" brings a fun perspective to the heroic epic.

Huge-headed and blue-skinned, the adorable baby Megamind (Will Ferrell) is sent from his besieged home planet to earth, where he finds himself isolated and alone with a unique genius for causing mayhem. While Megamind decides to embrace what he perceives as his villainous nature, his heroic nemesis Metro Man (Brad Pitt) gains acclaim throughout the city for always saving the day.

After a lifetime of failed attempts to defeat Metro City’s hero, Megamind finally succeeds in his evil plot, and is left with control of a terrified city and no motivation to continue.

Without the force of good to oppose him, Megamind has no purpose in being evil, so he creates a new nemesis with all of the powers of Metro Man, called Titan (Jonah Hill). But when faced with a novice superhero causing destruction and a budding romance with Roxanne Ritchi (Tina Fey), Megamind is forced to choose between his evil destiny and the good he longs to embody.

While the story attempts to parody the dramatic superhero fable, the most engaging moments are the understated quips, not the overarching dramatics. Megamind has a strange affinity for mispronouncing words, calling his old school a “shule,” as well as a charming best friend and sidekick called Minion (David Cross), who is inexplicably a small fish perched on the body of some kind of robotic

Although the dialogue could have avoided some of its more trite moments, the cast of comedic standouts, paired with fresh animation and a fast-paced story, make Megamind a fun foray into the quirky world of Metro City.
