SoCal Republicans Celebrate National Victory

The crowd was exhilarated by her appearance, and chanted “Carly, Carly, Carly” as she grinned back and thanked them for their support.
One teenaged girl who stood in the front row during Fiorina’s speech and shook her hand after she worked the crowd afterwords said, “that was so worth the four hour wait.”

The California Republican Party gathered in Irvine, California – the “most Republican district in California,” according to Ron Nehring, the Chair of the state party – to celebrate the new Republican majority in the House of Representatives and the surge of Republican victories across the country.
The crowd cheered when Nehring lauded the victory of Florida’s Marco Rubio. Crowd member John Warner, a candidate for the GOP Central Committee, said that Rubio “was destined to win. He is the young, bright future of the Republican party,” along with other victors like Pennsylvania’s Toomey.
As the night dragged on and the number of party attendees slowly dwindled, discussion turned to sore feet instead of political speculation.

The official celebrations kicked off at 8:00 p.m., and Carly Fiorina is expected to speak at the soiree.
Shortly after the doors to the party opened, a small crowd gathered at the front of the stage, watching the election results come in on Fox News, broadcast on a large screen behind the podium.
Linda Cerro, an Independent voter who voted straight Republican in the California election, said that elections are “what we do in America. It’s still about ‘we the people’.”
Although Democrats won the California gubernatorial and Senate elections, Cerro said that, “this is about a lot more than California. This is about the United States of America. Change is in the wind.”
Cerro echoed the sentiments of many at the celebratory party, stating that the Tea Party is a statement against “Obama-nation care” and represents a return to the ideals of the Constitution.
