Whitman Chastises Brown In Second Calif. Gubernatorial Debate
In a debate Saturday morning mired by technical difficulties, Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman lashed out at Democrat Jerry Brown for helping bring to light the handling of her former housekeeper.
"You should be ashamed for sacrificing Nicky Diaz on the altar of your political ambitions," Whitman said to Brown during the debate held in Fresno, according to the Fresno Bee's John Ellis. She later re-emphasized a point she made on Fox News Saturday that no one will care about Nicky Diaz, her former housekeeper, after the Nov. 2 midterm elections.
Brown responded that Whitman is blaming everyone but herself, showing a lack of accountability as a leader.
"You can't be a leader unless you’re willing to stand on your own two feet and say, yup, I made a mistake and I’m going on from here,'" he said.
A tape-delayed broadcast of the debate will air on Univision at 4 p.m. Saturday. The broadcast will be in Spanish, though closed-captioning in English will be available. The live debate endured about a 40-minute delay in the middle because of trouble with the in-house English-Spanish translation system. Questions were read in Spanish, translated to English for the candidates, answered in English and then translated back to Spanish. The candidates left the stage during the delay.
Brown used the debate to highlight his green jobs plan, which could prove important for swaying voters in Fresno and other Central Valley cities with high unemployment. Brown was also quick to mention that he was the one who signed the bill in 1975 that gave farmworkers the chance to collectively bargain. Farmworkers had been excluded from the original FDR-era National Labor Relations Act.
The next debate takes place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 from Dominican University in the Bay Area. NBC's Tom Brokaw moderates.

Francis, there is an old saying that when you see your enemy locked in a deathly struggle with a bear, you don't step in to either help your enemy or the bear. You are obviously a Whitman supporter who is frustrated that Whitman is fighting a bear and Jerry Brown is not helping her so what you are trying to do is substitute her for the bear. You are blowing smoke. None of us know the details but the nanny, the Whitmans, and Gloria Allred. And if you think people reading this blog believe that anyone can control or direct the actions of Gloria Allred, I have a bridge in Brooklyin in which I would like to interest you.
California is teetering on the edge of insolvency and Jerry Brown has appeared. Talk about clowns running the country. Don't think for one minute Jerry Brown (Moonbeam) is not behind the illegal alien maid issue. His friends in the union have no inflence over Meg Whitman, but if Brown manages to become Governor he will owe a lot of favors to the--UNIONS. Its very strange that this illegal female came out of the woodwork, after a whole year has past. Personally I do not relish billionaire Meg Whitman running Sacramento, unless she can get rid of the rampant corruption. The whole Democratic-Liberal assembly has adopted California as a "Sanctuary State" for illegal aliens. My guess Gloria Allred, a feminist and exhibitionist has being well paid by La Raza or Unions, to start this conspiracy. GOOGLE--illegal alien costs, as Jerry Reid will be another Governor for another--AMNESTY.
Ask “Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich who released figures from the Department of Public Social Services showing that illegal aliens’ children born in the United States collected nearly $570 million in welfare and food stamps in 2009. Approximately 23% of all CALWORKS and food stamp issuance's in Los Angeles County are made to parents who reside in the United States illegally and collect benefits for their native-born children. Oh! Yes! Did this female illegal alien happen to pay the State and Federal IRS there pound of flesh?
Anger at These :
Gambling on Iraq Oil Again : A Drop in the Bucket Vs. Growing Population & Demand World-wide. The Age of Cheap Oil = A Thing of the Past.
1. At this time, it looks like the oil-friendly country is gambling on Iraq oil again, citing a big government & deficit, and therefore the world-wide stimulus package worth trillions and health care reform in America are now at stake.
2. Of the money by the money for the money is getting a society nowhere near prosperity.
Gambling on party of "no idea" is sure to be much like Throwing an Egg of Economy Against a Rock.
The outcome of government take-over :
1. In banking industry, the result of government take-over is big bonus parties backed by the tax-payer's invaluable cash.
2. In healcare reform, the outcome of government take-over is to dump ill children when needed most.
3. In oil spill, the administration should be held responsible for its deregulation, urging a big government
Chanting deficit :
1. Amid chanting deficit, the same old failed policy.
2. Amid chanting deficit, hands-off approach over huge trade deficit from oil money spill & trade imbalance with China from remorseless health care premium.
3. Unfortunately, as a direct consequence of remorseless health care premium, numerous folks have no choice but to hang onto affordable offerings, since one in two households is said to face a hard decision between necessity & drug.
4. Inaction cost in relation to health care reform totals $9trillion over the next decade.
5. Over the next 10 years, total Bush tax cut costs will equal $3.9 trillion, .... the tax cuts would increase deficits by nearly $4 trillion between 2005 and 2014.
The most critical debt : Personal Bankruptcy
1. The current recession came from Personal Bankruptcy largely as a consequence of the relentless health care costs, pain at the pump, and the subsequent subprime mortgage crisis.
Facig huge trade deficit from oil money spill & trade imbalance with China, the primary economic policy of previous administration was " spending baby "to the great delight of republicans' sponsors.
2. By comparison, the recovered stock market value alone, around $1.5 trillion, is nearly twice as much as the stimulus package, set aside all the other benefits.
As always, the republicans and unqualified media let folks locked in a box. ruling out the positive effects.
The most promising deficit-cut of government : Slashing the destructive war & military waste
1. Slashing the destructive war & military waste alone supposedly could be enough to balance the budget.
Energy Independence : An Only Way to Desperately-Needed Job Growth
My response to the question : where are jobs ?
In the trade deficit, exactly in the severe and persistent oil money spill, taboo of " do not add to the deficit" party.
Under the existing Bush tax cut for bonus parties, a sole job plan for the republicans, the country already saw millions of job cuts.
