1. Shop N San Fernando Boulevard
Walk down this street in Burbank to find a great mix of shops to spend an afternoon browsing all types of clothes from vintage and thrift stores to your standard Urban Outfitters. Special places to check out include Wasteland, a store with a cool mix of new and used clothes, Backside Records, where you can meet all your vinyl needs as well as find some cool swag and American Way Thrift where gems are hidden among the racks of clothes. Here's a coupon for 10 percent off clothing on Fridays.

2. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" in 4D
Go to the El Capitan theater this weekend or next to experience the 3D Tim Burton classic with an added dimension including live "snow" and other sensory effects. Some screenings include a special pumpkin dinner beforehand. Check the website for specific dates and times.
