1. Joshua Tree Roots Music Fest
Okay, this isn't in Los Angeles exactly, but Joshua Tree's annual music festival showcases local and national artists. Think Coachella but smaller and more folkie. For the lineup, click here. With manageable desert temperatures in the upper-80s, this is the perfect weekend for a camping road trip with fellow music lovers. 2. Tom Tom Club @ The Getty
After a brief hiatus, the Getty offers its last concert of the outdoor summer-series Saturdays Off the 405 with a performance by Tom Tom Club. Originally members of the Talking Heads, this husband-and-wife duo's quirky music is part 80s rap, part new wave backed with a club beat.

4. CicLAvia
Dust off your bike, skateboard or even old rollerblades! This Sunday, more than 7 miles of L.A. streets will be closed to vehicle traffic to encourage Angelenos to get out of their cars and get moving. The event is based off a similar idea that started in Bogota, Colombia. Along routes stretching from East Hollywood to Koreatown, Westlake to Downtown and Little Tokyo to Boyle Heights you can expect to see museums, galleries, public art and food tasting and events at local businesses.

5. Pann's Restaurant and Coffee Shop
This classic 50s restaurant has been around for over half a century. It was started by a Greek immigrant and his wife who can still be found greeting customers on any given day. The classic atmosphere has scored it features in several films including Bewitched, Next and Pulp Fiction.
