Video: Blake Griffin Debuts With Double Dose Of Dunk
Wednesday afternoon, my buddy Shotgun asked me to guess Blake Griffin's stat line for his debut against the Trail Blazers. Knowing how good the Blazers are defensively, I said 16-12 (16 points, 12 rebounds).
Generous, right? (Especially for a rookie.)
Little did I know he was going to go on a 20-point, 14-rebound, four-assist rampage that included not one but two jaw-dropping dunks (see video) in the Clippers' 98-88 loss.
Griffin's double-double debut put him in rare company with Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard. Though it's technically his second year in the NBA, Griffin is still considered a rookie because he missed all of last season with a knee injury, which means he's eligible for the Rookie of the Year award.
Your move, John Wall.
