British Prime Minister David Cameron said at a London press conference Monday that a British aid worker may have been killed during an American rescue attempt by a U.S. grenade. The American command in Afghanistan originally announced that Linda Norgrove, 36, was killed by her Taliban captors.

The recent developments came to light after a U.S. led review found that her death may have been the result of a grenade detonated by American's during their rescue raid. However, it is still not certain whether or not this was how Norgrove wase even killed. Cameron said that "a full U.S./U.K. investigation will now be launched.”

Norgrove was captured Sept. 26, 2009 by the Taliban in the eastern Afghanistan province of Kunar.
