Whoever said baseball is boring hasn't been watching this series! Talk about your typical Giants game, pure torture. But this time, the torture ended in a one-way ticket for the Gigantes to the WORLD SERIES! 

The Phillies took an early lead in the first with Chase Utley doubling deep to right, giving Placido Polanco the green light to score. Then, Jayson Werth hit a sacrifice fly to left, sending Utley home and making the score 2-0.

My men playing on in Orange October quickly tied up the score in the third inning with Aubrey Huff's single to center field that allowed Jonathan Sanchez (that's our pitcher!) to score. Then, with an error by first baseman Ryan Howard, Buster Posey's ground ball sent Huff home and the Giants back into the game.

After five innings of no scoring, Juan Uribe hit his second career postseason home run to give my boys in black and orange a 3-2 edge. Even though the game was at the little league stadium in Philly, screams of "URIBE" could be heard everywhere. Or maybe that was just the San Fran fans watching with me...

We've all heard that this season was the year of the pitcher and once again the matchup tonight was one for the books. Sanchez faced off against Roy Oswalt, the man who took out the Giants in Game 2. Sanchez had big time trouble finding a strike (even in the first inning) and shots of Jeremy Affeldt warming up in the bullpen scared all Giants fans alike.

But it wasn't just the lack of strikes that scared the Giants, it was Sanchez's ball that hit Chase Utley's back and caused a brawl on the field. After Utley tossed the ball back at Sanchez, the benches cleared and the bell to fight rang. Looks like there's a fight club starting in the National League... And just like that, Sanchez was sent back to the dugout at the top of the third.

Back to the Giants pitching, nearly our entire pitching staff made an appearance Saturday night. Sanchez, Affeldt, Madison Bumgarner, Javier Lopez, Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson all came out to pitch a couple of innings apiece. The big shocker came from Lincecum and his 1/3 inning. Maybe "The Freak" was a little tired after pitching seven innings on Thursday? The two hits he gave up are disappointing either way.

But the Giants fought, they scratched and finally they won. It's been seven years since the Giants won the National League pennant and now they will continue on in hopes of winning the first World Series since moving out West over fifty years ago. Boys, pop that champagne now and celebrate because you're going up against the Rangers come Wednesday!

I can guarantee you all that I will be the one screaming my heart out in my Buster Posey uniform and hat, so feel free to join in and help root the Giants through the World Series!
