Neon Tommy Sports Forecast: What To Watch This Weekend (Oct. 8-10)
This weekend in sports includes Week 5 of the NFL season, the continuation of the MLB Playoffs and some great matchups in the NBA preseason.
Here are the top games to watch this weekend:
On Friday, the NBA preseason matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat will start at 8:30 pm ET.
With Dwyane Wade out with a strained hamstring, it will be good to see if LeBron James and Chris Bosh can get the rest of the team involved while still competeting with the Thunder’s Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook.
Is there about to be a new Big Three in town?
A Sunday NFL matchup to watch is the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts game in Indianapolis at 1:00 pm ET.
The Chiefs are the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL but it requires a look at the teams they beat to determine how good they really are. The Chiefs are showing great improvement from last year and the Colts are facing trouble with injuries. The Colts running game ranks No. 29 in the league. They're averaging just 75 yards per game on the ground.
The Colts need to get their running game and Peyton Manning under control before they can tackle big wins. The game Sunday could prove the Chiefs really do have a shot or give the Colts the boost they need to start playing like a championship team again.
On Monday night, the big showdown is between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets in New York at 8:30 pm ET.
The Jets have been in the spotlight this season with LaDainian Tomlinson playing very well but all eyes will be on the Vikings with the return of Randy Moss. New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will also be returning from a hamstring injury and is ready to lock horns with Moss.
The return of these players makes this game an early and irresistible treat.
