San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Game 4 recap: The San Francisco Giants are one win away from the World Series after a thrilling 6-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 4 of the NLCS on Wednesday night.

The Giants, who are aiming for their first world championship win since moving to the West Coast, scored more than four runs for the first time in the postseason.

With a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning, it seemed the Giants had everything under control. But the two-time defending NL champions tied the score on back-to-back doubles by Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth. Juan Uribe answered in the ninth inning with a sacrifice fly to win the game.

Giants catcher Buster Posey was able to break out of a 1-for-11 NLCS slump with four hits and two RBIs, adding an outstanding defensive play to boot.

Game 5 will set the stage for yet another pitching battle between Tim Lincecum and Roy Halladay.

Key moment: In the bottom of the ninth inning, Aubrey Huff singled with one out and took third after a single by Buster Posey. Juan Uribe then hit a medium-deep fly ball, leaving left fielder Ben Francisco with no chance to throw out the sliding Huff, ending the game.

Game changer: In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Giants took a 5-4 lead after Pablo Sandoval doubled to deep center scoring Pat Burrell and Cody Ross.

Play of the game: After coming off the bench in the top of the ninth, Juan Uribe executed a brilliant defensive play. The 31-year-old shortstop made a difficult back-handed play in the hole and threw out Ross Gload at first to make the first out of the inning.

Unsung hero: Uribe was a ninth-inning replacement who not only made a great defensive play, but who won the game for the Giants with a sacrifice fly, giving them a three games to one lead in the NCLS and taking them one step closer to a World Series berth.

Quote of the game:
“I got butterflies. I got anxiety. I got a mini-ulcer developing, but it's all worth it. We never lost focus.” - Giants closer Brian Wilson
