Updated predictions for all Senate and Gubernatorial races show Jerry Brown beating Meg Whitman and Barbara Boxer beating Carly Fiorina.

Democrats hoping for Elaine Marshall to pull out a come-from-behind victory in North Carolina’s senate race are looking less and less hopeful. Marshall squared off against Republican Sen. Richard Burr in a debate last night, but her anti-incumbent message did not resonate well with voters who identify Democrats with the Washington establishment.

Banks and post offices may have been closed for Monday’s federal holiday, but polls were still moving across the country. In Florida, a new survey shows a deadlocked governor’s race. Meanwhile in Maine, a poll shows a wide-open race between three Senate candidates.

  • Donald Trump has elaborated on his claim that he is considering to run for president in 2012.
  • Rand Paul continues to push back at anyone who suggests his ideas are too far outside the mainstream. On Monday, Paul hit back at former president Bill Clinton after Clinton called Paul’s ideas “radical” when stumping for his opponent in Kentucky. Paul made reference to the Lewinsky scandal, questioning Clinton’s honorability and trustworthiness.
  • In case you missed it over the weekend, check out the Saturday Night Live spoof of Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell.
  • An Ohio Republican House candidate has pulled his television ads after a would-be volunteer accused him of sexual harassment.
  • Republican columnist Ann Coulter sparred with Bill O’Reilly on Fox News Monday over New York GOP candidate Carl Paladino’s anti-gay comments.

Politico explains how the entire 2010 election season can be understood through one Senate race and one candidate.
