Brown V. Whitman: Is Anyone Telling The Truth?

The biggest news in the gubernatorial race is probably not news to most people: both Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman have been bending the truth.
The Whitman campaign has begun airing ads that claim Brown is opposed to the death penalty, “even for cop killers.” The truth? Brown has said he is personally opposed to the death penalty, but he has upheld it as attorney general.
So Brown, naturally, fired back with some exaggeration of his own. Brown claimed that Whitman would cut billions from schools, even though Whitman has said she is against cuts to education.

According to the TPM poll tracker, the race is as close as ever – Brown leads, but barely, with a margin of 45.9 to 44.4 percent.
