Brown V. Whitman: Is Anyone Telling The Truth?

The biggest news in the gubernatorial race is probably not news to most people: both Jerry Brown and Meg Whitman have been bending the truth

The Whitman campaign has begun airing ads that claim Brown is opposed to the death penalty, “even for cop killers.” The truth? Brown has said he is personally opposed to the death penalty, but he has upheld it as attorney general.

So Brown, naturally, fired back with some exaggeration of his own. Brown claimed that Whitman would cut billions from schools, even though Whitman has said she is against cuts to education.

According to the TPM poll tracker, the race is as close as ever – Brown leads, but barely, with a margin of 45.9 to 44.4 percent.

Whitman 2012? “It would be easy for someone to think, as they are inundated with TV and radio ads, yard signs and precinct walkers, that Meg Whitman is actually running for California's governorship. Such a quaint idea.”  Huffington Post

Anybody who votes for MW has to have their head examined.

1) She cares nothing about our society as she does not even vote in elections !!! Then she has the gall to run for office to get people to vote for her!!! What nerve !!!! She is only out to protect the millions she made in big business and cares nothing about the common person.

2) Meg had to get out of business because she could not run a company larger than a certain size. No way can she do anything for Cali which is 1000 more complex.

3) Take note that she is the one who set the smear campaign stage with those Clinton ads where the “source” of Clintons information admitted up to error. She continued to run the ads for months anyway. This just shows you how low an integrity she has. I am glad Clinton is coming to Cali to campaign against her for misrepresenting him on purpose.

4) Finally, how Meg thinks Pete Wilson WH* remarks is acceptable but GBs aids remarks were not is hypocrisy at its best.

Sara Palin coming to Cali to support Meg??? This will be the dumbest move her campaign has made so far. Palin is the laughing stock of the country. Her inspirational speeches sound so forced and ingenious she will only do damage to her.

Take my word for it… better to avoid Whitman like the plague.

I am sick of the campaigns and am distressed at the childishness of it all. From the growing Meg Whitman nose to the sing-song tones of "hide your wallet," it's disgusting. For what it's worth, I prefer Meg Whitman, although that's not saying a lot about what will happen to California. But, if Brown is elected, we'll all be in bread lines. He has no clear cut ideas about solving any problems, hasn't got a clue. Experience shows us that campaign promises have no substance when politicians make statements about funding this or that. Where is the money coming from to do what you say? If they could tax the air that we breathe, they would. And as nasty as I think that Meg Whitman can be, at least she has some ideas about what to do. People may not like the idea that she is rich, but so what...we need to put aside the petty issues and pick some adult that is going to take a shot at fixing the cash flow and budget. That's what is critical now, not popularity or parties or slickness. Character counts, of course, it's what we teach our children, but at this time I think I would like to see some person with an extremely nasty tone stand up and make the Sacramento bandits listen and behave. THEY are the real problem, they are the reason Arnold failed, and the next Governor will also have major problems with them. Jerry Brown won't cut it. At least Meg Whitman has a degree in economics to draw from.

Character counts, eh Jerry? What did you do and say when your campaign worker called your opponent a whore? I believe you were discussing how you could use something against Meg Whitman. Not much character there. And also, although I do not want to defend rapists and thieves, as the Attorney General, you should know better than to convict someone of a crime without having a trial. But, you need to look good now, so, no matter whether anyone has yet been convicted, you praise yourself in commercials about your collars. Our country is distinguished with its devotion to rule of law...but the campaign will be over before a verdict comes in, so they can be used, too, eh? How can they get a fair trial, now?

I felt like voting for a third party member, but the candidate got herself arrested. Her point was valid, but I am exhausted trying to figure out what person is best for California. I am going to spend my time adding to my survival kit. The only good thing to look forward to is that the campaigns will soon be over.

Guess what? Jerry Brown isn't poor, either.
