Boxer V. Fiorina: Today In The California Senator's Race, Oct. 8

Barbara Boxer, who is still ahead in the polls, answered several questions for a Jewish magazine:
- She reaffirmed her stance against torture
- Said safety of Americans needs to be ensured before moving prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to the U.S.
- She's pushing for more direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians, but she said the U.S. should not dictate the terms of bilateral agreements in which it is not involved.
- She supports sanctions against Iran and said "When it comes to Iran, nothing should be taken off the table."
- As already known, she supports gay marriage and is pro-choice.
-
Finally, she said the people of New York City should decide whether the "Ground Zero mosque" project should be allowed."
Carly Fiorina heads to Newport Beach Friday night for the Hispanic 100 Lifetime Achievement Award Gala. She will be standing next to someone she hasn't been next to in public for a while: Meg Whitman.
Both Fiorina and Whitman are skipping out on another chance to be seen together, though. Sarah Palin will be on the West Coast later this month, and both of the Republican candidates have said they won't be attending. Palin endorsed Fiorina during the primaries.
The California GOP is hoping to boost the floundering Fiorina campaign by dumping another $1 million into the effort.
Some interesting endorsements: The L.A. sheriff has endorsed Boxer, while the O.C. sheriff has endorsed Fiorina.
