The stars continue to align in Barbara Boxer’s favor: The San Jose Mercury News is the latest paper to endorse the incumbent senator, writing, “the traits we wish Boxer displayed are if anything less apparent in Carly Fiorina,” and “Fiorina is on the wrong side of too many other issues.”

A story in the Washington Times, however, takes a more positive outlook. The article, which cites a Fiorina supporter at a private conservative gathering who thinks Carly should run for president, says “Ms. Fiorina’s polished performance in her bid in California to unseat Sen. Barbara Boxer is turning heads among influential social and religious conservatives.”

Fiorina didn’t look particularly “polished” Sunday morning, though. Her inability to say how, exactly, she would trim the budget deficit (besides cutting waste, of course) was the news of the day Sunday, and the snafu has been captured on video and posted online, so everyone can relive the excruciating discussion.
