"Sexy Book of Sexy Sex" Author Brings Her Mojo to Book Soup

Schaal explained that she has a distinct style of humor. “No punch lines, no jokes,” she sarcastically stated. This is relatively truthful when looking at her book, particularly the element about punch lines—in order to have a punch line, something has to stop being funny.
The Sexy Book of Sexy Sex is hilarious from start to finish. Flip through it to a random page and you may land on the history of the orgy, complete with an ancient Greek newspaper clipping featuring orgies reviewed by Dionysus. You may land on instructions for “being a bad girl” and find yourself cringing over the joke suggestions to “poop on him” and “shave off all of your hair,” but most of the book’s humor is easy to stomach.
Schaal co-authored the book with her cohabitant Rich Blomquist, a writer for "The Daily Show." She said the best part of writing the book together was “being done,” and that the couple chose to write on sex because they “just think sex it funny.”
In the spirit of Schaal’s quick-witted, easy-toned answers, Joey Ricci decided to fire back some sexy questions of his own. He asked, jokingly, what advice would Schaal give to aspiring writers who are becoming more sexually active?
Schaal offered a solemn answer to this question, one that all you writers out there can certainly take to heart. “If you’re getting laid a lot,” she said, “You’re not writing enough.”
