Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Ryan Seacrest return for Season 10 of "American Idol" (Michael Becker/FOX)
Daily Hollywood – Thursday September 23, 2010

Tongues are still wagging about "American Idol's" two newest additions - Diva-from-the-block Jennifer Lopez will be joining Randy Jackson on the judging panel, but the most surprising addition is Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. A one-time rock legend, Tyler is now going to be braiding hair and bitching with Ryan Seacrest on one of the cheesiest pop-manufacturing shows in the world - ok, just kidding, Tyler might be too cool to braid hair. But in all seriousness, Tyler apparently thinks this is a credible career move - in a statement released to the press, Tyler states "If you don’t like what I say, don’t get mad, get better. I’m ready to bring some rock to this ‘roller’ coaster and show these kids if they have the dream, the talent and the drive, they will be the next American Idol.” If Slash couldn't bring the "rock" to Idol, I'm not sure how Tyler will, but this may just entice a few more to the steadily depleting "AI" audience.

Lara Stone is baring it all for Vogue Paris’s 90th Anniversary October Issue. Carine Roifeld, editor and chief of the legendary magazine, plays on the idea that they “couldn’t do a lukewarm issue” since “Vogue Paris has always played the card of audacity.” The 622-page issue will feature mixtures of new editorials along with Vogue archive snippets. Roitfeld is planning to celebrate the anniversary with a costume ball Sept. 30. (Source: Fashionologie.com)

Mel Gibson might just get away with his antics, again. Now everyone remembers the shocking threats and rants that Gibson left on Oksana Grigorieva’s voicemail while the two battled out in a child custody case after their separation. It seems that Grigorieva may not have a case at all, however, despite those tapes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a “serious extortion investigation” against Gibson’s ex because of the “numerous emails, texts, documents and witness statements.” Because Grigorieva obtained these things without Gibson’s knowledge and because her “physical evidence is shaky,” she may be forced to take the Fifth, which would silence her from saying something that could incriminate her. Katy Perry no longer has a future in children’s entertainment! Perry performed a parody of her song “Hot ‘N Cold” along with Elmo on Sesame Street, but children will never get to see its light of day! It seems that Perry’s sexy cleavage was “too much for some parents” after the “pop singer’s revealing outfit drew a slew of parental complaints, according to Time.” (Source: The Daily Beast)

MTV is losing its veteran CEO, Bill Roedy. Roedy is stepping down from his longtime post of chairman and CEO of MTV Networks Intl. and from his position of vice chairman of MTV Networks. A replacement for Roedy has still not been identified, though Roedy will not officially depart until the end of the year. Roedy will be remembered for being “instrumental in establishing one of the most popular bouquets of international television channels.” (Source: Hollywood Reporter)
