Feeling dancing envy from the last time you watched "Saturday Night Fever"? This Friday is your chance to flex your disco dancing muscles at the Music Center Plaza downtown. A free event, sponsored by the Performing Arts Center of L.A., provides beginning dance lessons before a DJ spins your favorite disco classics while you show off your new skills.

2. Pasadena Academy 6

I don't know about you, but expensive movie theater prices have kept me away for quite some time. Get back in the movie theater scene this weekend without breaking the bank by seeing one at the Pasadena Theatre. For just $3 -- $2 for a matinee -- we can feel good about spending money at the movies and catch up on those films we haven't seen in a while.

3. Long Beach Art Walk

If you missed the Downtown L.A. Art Walk Thursday night, or if you went and didn't get enough, check out the Long Beach version this Saturday. The streets are closed off as the neighborhood is converted into a street fair and galleries, shops, restaurants and boutiques extend their hours. The experience is free, and you should be able to find free street parking if you get there early enough. If not, there are lots available for about $4.

4. Pictures of the Year

Take a look back at 2009. The Annenberg Center for Photography is featuring an exhibit of the best documentary photographs of the year, picked from more than 45,000 entries. Located in Century City.

5. Getty Villa in Malibu

You've been to the Getty, but have you been to its sister location in Malibu? This museum is dedicated to all things Greek and Roman. The beautiful architecture and reflection pond make it a great place to wander and reflect. Grab your significant other and make a day of it. It's free, but you have to register online to RSVP before you go. Parking costs $15 per car, though, so if you can't take public transit make sure you carpool.
