1. Yoga on the Pier
Wander to the end of the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday mornings and you'll find a diverse group of people practicing yoga. Join them this weekend-- just bring your mat and towel, as well as a photo ID. It's completely free-- you'll even be compensated for parking. Just bring some cash to pay for parking initially.
Free
Every Saturday until August 29, 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

2. Picnic at Bunker Hill
Rest on a park bench under the shade of some of the few trees in Downtown L.A. this weekend and have a picnic. In addition to the cool contrast of park-amidst-city setting and the great view, what makes this spot extra special is its appearance in the film "500 Days of Summer." This patch of paradise is named Bunker Hill and is located on 4th and Olive Streets Downtown.

Anytime

3. Body Art Expo
If you are looking for something really different and a guarantee for good people-watching, check out this tattoo convention in Pomona. Friday night swing by before 7 p.m. to see the tattoo contest where they'll give out awards for best movie character, portrait and best tattoo of the day. Many booths are available to get a tattoo on the spot, if you're feeling it. Probably not a good idea for the queasy or the prude.

You're stepping into Dodger Stadium. No, it's not for baseball. It's for shopping! Every girl's dream. The grand opening of the L.A. Flea Market is this Sunday. With an admission price of $5, it's cheaper and on a different weekend than the Rose Bowl Flea Market. Plus, the website boasts live bands, entertainment and tons of free parking.

5. The O.C. Fair
Nothing says summer like country music and the smell of barn animals. Fulfill your craving for these hot-weather staples at the Orange County Fair this weekend. With many concerts and activities to amuse you, this is good old-fashioned fun. Brave the crowds of opening hour on Friday from noon-1 p.m. and get free admission and parking.
