We've all done the traditional day at the Getty, but mix it up this time by going to the Saturdays Off the 405 concert series, featuring North Hills band Dawes. Get there early and see the sunset or check out the free Spotlight After Dark museum tours. Parking is free after 5 p.m.

2. Rose Bowl Flea Market
The ultimate scavenger hunt, bring along two $20 bills and come home with bags of loot. It only comes around the second Sunday of every month, so try to make a stop at each of the 2,500 vendors. Bring a buddy so you don't get lost!

3. Dollar Dog Days
Get a quick, cheap and delicious bite to eat at one of these popular hot dog stands. At the Century City stand, it only costs a buck for a dog if you get one between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. You have to be a StandCard member, but it takes two seconds to sign up on their website.

Possibly the most eclectic shop in existence, this store is nestled among the various stores of Chinatown. Whether you're looking for a new record or a funky gift, the owner of this shop prides herself on bringing together all things awesome.

5. Outdoor Cinema Food Fest
This event combines three amazing things: food, movies and being under the night sky. Friday is the first night of this outdoor movie series and features the 1996 film "Swingers." What makes it different than Cinespia? Each week features different cuisine available at food trucks. You might have to go more than once because the summer movie line-up looks amazing.
