Bad news for Carly Fiorina: voters don’t like her hair, or her politics.

The Republican Senate nominee caused a stir in June when she bashed incumbent Barbara Boxer’s hair without realizing her mic was on. Fiorina was preparing for an interview with CNN, when she referred to the Democrat’s hair as “so yesterday.”

Since Fiorina brought up the issue, Public Policy Polling decided to reference Hairgate in its latest survey, asking voters whose hair they preferred. The poll reveals that voters actually prefer Boxer’s hair, and Boxer herself.

While 46 percent of voters disapprove of Boxer’s work as senator, she leads Fiorina in the polls 49 percent to 40 percent. According to the survey, only 28 percent of Californians approve of Fiorina, and 32 percent of Californians have yet to form an opinion of her – a fairly large percentage, considering the amount of money the former Hewlett-Packard CEO has put into her campaign.

But that 28 percent approval is higher than the support her hairdo received – only 14 percent of voters said they prefer Fiorina’s hair, while 19 percent prefer Boxer’s. Two-thirds of those polled said they weren’t sure whose hairstyle was better.
