1. Tomorrow's Tulips @ The Smell: This small venue's cool vibe and vegan snacks make it a great place to check out some new music - if you can find it. Venture down the alley between Main and Spring streets in Downtown and you'll reach the entrance. What makes it special? The venue is all ages and entirely volunteer run.

2. Bixby Rollerettes vs. Terminal Island Tootsies: So 'Whip It' didn't satisfy your roller-derby craving? Long Beach Roller Derby's showdown this weekend at the Queen Mary Dome should do it. In case girls in costume ferociously racing around a rink isn't exciting enough, the event also features a live band, fire dancing, and bars. You can get tickets online here, or get them at the door.
