Looks like USC is no longer the only L.A.-based football program under fire. Three incoming freshmen on the UCLA football team were arrested Wednesday on charges of felony theft. Allegations involve a stolen purse from Hendrick Hall.

From KTLA.com:

"Paul Richardson, Shaquille Richardson and Josh Shirley were arrested by UCLA police on campus. All three were enrolled at UCLA for summer classes.

UCLA spokesman Marc Dellins said only, 'We are aware of the situation and we are looking into it. We will have a comment at the appropriate time.'"

More details, courtesy of Rumors and Rants:

"All three players were booked at a county jail and released Thursday morning. Paul and Shaquille Richardson were both released on $20,000 bail, while Shirley was released without bail.

Shirley is a four-star recruit and was the No. 9 outside linebacker and No. 137 overall player in the country according to Rivals.com. Meanwhile Paul Richardson was also a four-star recruit and the No. 38 ranked receiver in the nation, while Shaquille Richardson was a three-star and the No. 30 ranked cornerback."

Felony theft is obviously not a lenient charge. I'm no lawyer, but I see house arrest and community service in their future (at the least).

We'll keep you updated.
