Although the number of vendors has noticeably decreased, the Farmers Market on University Avenue right by USC will stay in business over the summer.

Every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. the sidewalk on University Avenue from 28th Street to Jefferson Blvd. is full of delicious smelling fresh food and unique products.

Many USC students and community members became patrons of the market after its move from the Shrine Auditorium a few months ago.

But with students and those affiliated with the University gone for summer vacation many local vendors cannot keep a profit.

"Business has been very slow since summer started. The lunch rush from USC was a big part of our profits. We have to pay a percentage of our earnings to be here, and I don't know if I can stay open for the summer," Taco stand owner Fernando Martinez said.
