Meg Whitman: Who Is She Kidding?

Since August, I've taken to tuning into KNX 1070 during my 45-minute daily commute from Pasadena to USC's downtown Los Angeles campus.
It's a quick and dirty way for me to get the top stories of the day, and puts me squarely ahead of the game before the morning has even really gotten underway.
But as the governor's race heats up in time for the June gubernatorial primary, Meg Whitman has turned my once-peaceful commute into a veritable house of horrors.
Trapped in rush-hour traffic in my little Ford Focus, I can't seem to get away from "Meg" and her onslaught of misleading -- yet, frighteningly effective -- ads.
And forget about changing the dial. I've already tried that, and no dice.
It seems no matter what station I tune to, I can guarantee that, 30 seconds later, either Whitman herself or the dreaded Howard Jarvis Taxpayer's Association will be making a pitch for my vote for the former eBay head.
I'd take the sound of nails scratching on chalkboard over a Whitman ad any day. The ads have begun to set my teeth on edge.
While I won't dispute government's penchant for playing fast and loose with tax dollars, the root of California's budget crisis isn't gross government misspending.
From now on, I think I'll skip the radio and plug in my iPod instead.
