UC Staffers Protest Furlough Plan; Board Says No Other Options Exist

While staff members opposed the University of California's move to furlough more than 100,000 employees, the Board of Regents voted overwhelmingly Thursday for the plan. The unpaid furlough days will range between 11 and 26 a year and amount to a 4-10 percent pay cut.
