Plaatjies is one of six musicians visiting USC's campus to collaborate with students and spread the word about musical instruments and styles native to South Africa. He sat down with reporter Richard Duchon to talk about his music and to play the Mbira.

Plaatjies and the other South African musicians performed Wednesday night at Bovard Auditorium.
